She took the business card he offered.
He drove off.

"Denny, I am not going skeet shooting with you and the former District Attorney."
"Party pooper. It'll be fun."
"I have terrible aim," Alan Shore said by way of an excuse.
"It isn't every day you get to meet the only Republican District Attorney in New York County, and it isn't every day he gets to meet Denny Crane."
"It is all about you, isn't it?"
"Star of the show. Denny Crane." Denny looked at Alan expecting his best friend to come along anyway.
Alan sighed, "All right, fine. I'll go."

"I haven't shot skeet in years," Branch stated.
Alan was surprised, considering the other man's complete familiarity with all of the equipment.
"Been about six months for me." Denny said. "Alan's shot at skeet"
Branch chuckled. "Just shot at? Too fast for you?"
"Seems so." Alan tried not to let on that he was coerced to join Denny on this expedition.
"When I was a young man in Georgia, we went duck hunting. I wasn't really that good at it then, missed every duck. Gave me incentive to keep trying. Now I think I'm a decent shot."
"Duck Hunt? Isn't that something they have for the Wii? Alan, we should get that."

Alan nodded, excelling at skeet shooting virtual or otherwise, was something he was perfectly happy not doing. After getting suited up in their shooting gear, the trio was escorted out onto the range. Branch and Alan used guns provided by the range. Denny, on the other hand, had his own.

"You first, Artie."

Branch stood at the mark and yelled, "PULL!" A skeet went flying into the air, and he shot it down with one round. "Think you can do better?"
Denny took this as a challenge, then yelled, "OSAMA! PULL!" The skeet flew out, and Denny shot it much further away from where they were, also in one shot.

Branch nodded, almost impressed, and Alan was just happy they seemed to forget he was there. He wasn't getting into this competition between two gun toting attorneys who spent most of their careers on opposite sides of the aisle.

The reason I'm doing this is because I have a lot of them, and I don't want to upload all the files to my web server because it takes a very long time. I will update this post when I make more caps.

Alan and Denny were in California trying a murder case for Courtney Reese, a famed television actress. Madeline had heard that the "Greatest Trial Attorney Who Ever Lived" was in town, so she decided to watch the proceedings.

Denny Crane didn't do much, but Alan Shore was fascinating, reminded her very much of Sebastian Stark. This was the kind of defense attorney she wanted to be.

After the days events, Madeline approached Alan, "Mr. Shore, my name is Madeline Poe, LA DA's office."
"Pleasure to meet you Ms. Poe."
"I'd be

Alan smiled, once again glad his ethics were flexible. "Where?"
Madeline scribbled an address down on a piece of note paper, "See you at seven" then turned and left the courtroom.

Deanna once again, found herself transported back to the past, and silently wished the engineers would fix this problem. She was in what looked like 21st Century Boston. She saw two men walking down the street...one looked very much like Capitan Kirk, the other was just interesting.

She walked over to the two of them.
"Excuse Me?" She asked them, "Can you tell me the time?"
The non-Kirk Man, smiled at her, then looked at his watch, "Three forty-eight PM"
Deanna found it odd that she couldn't get any feelings off of him, the Kirk-Man on the other hand, was just full of himself. "Thank you, very much."
Non-Kirk handed her something, "If you need anything else, let me know."
Deanna read the card to herself.

She smiled, "Thank you for the offer" Then she turned and walked off in search of something that could get her back home.

Janeway sighed and walked over to the woman who managed not to look very nervous, "Hello...My name is Kathryn Janeway, Capitan of this ship."
The woman shook her hand, Lieutenant Colonel Sarah MacKenize, Untied States Marine Corps."
"Pleasure to meet you...why don't we go into my office, I'll explain what's going on."
Mac nodded and followed the Capitan.

Wheeler rolled her eyes, as a man in a three piece suit walked into the squad room. "It isn't Homeland Security, it's international security."
Logan glared at the man who walked over to shake his hand. "Clayton Webb"
Logan shook back, "From where."
"The phone company." As he said that, Webb showed him an ID card, that said "Central Intelligence Agency."
Mike raised an eyebrow, "The folder's on my desk"
"Along with half the paperwork the NYPD has, it seems."
Logan glared again.
Webb sighed, "I need to know what you and Detective Wheeler found."
Mike nodded and went into an interview room, he was not expecting a spy.

He'd just finished his last set of finals, he was officially done with his undergraduate education. In the fall, he'd be beginning Harvard Law School. To celebrate he decided to go of all places, a college bar in Connecticut. Most of the other schools were out already, and the place was pretty quiet.

The door to the bar opened, and a young woman walked in and sat a few stools away from him. She looked like she'd had a bad evening. He decided to be nice and waived the bartender over. "I'd like to buy her, whatever she's drinking."
The bartender walked over to the woman, "That man over there wants to buy you a drink."
She looked over at Alan, then told the bartender, "OK"

Alan sipped his beer, seeing if she would come over and talk, after fifteen minutes he got up and sat next to her.
Another few minutes went by, then she talked, "Why did you do that?"
"You looked like you had a terrible day."
She nodded. "Thanks."
"What happened?"
She looked at him again, then decided why not, it wasn't like she was going to see him again. "I got into a big fight with my parents, about law school."
"Doesn't seem like something they should fight you on."
"I got into Columbia, they want me to go to Harvard."
Alan nodded.
"I want to go to Columbia."
They stayed until closing, talking about school, families, friends, and even themselves. They left the bar, each feeling a little better than when they entered, thanks to...whoever that was, names were never exchanged.

Carolyn just finished her testimony for the prosecution. The defense was what she was worried about. She'd heard stories about lawyers from Boston.
Alan spoke sharply, "Detective Barek, what made you so sure that my client fired the gun?"

"My client is a registered gun owner, correct?"
He is, but--"
Alan cut her off, "Thank you."
Denny watched as the questioning continued, thankful that Alan was his lawyer.

Alan didn't even pretend to understand why Shirley picked him for this case. He supposed it didn't matter, they were going to try to settle it. He walked into the JAG offices at Falls Church, Virginia. Everything was so...crowded.
A blonde woman walked up to him, "Can I help you?"
"Yes...I'm here to see a, Commander Rabb."
"This way." Alan followed her back to a small office. He saw Rabb through the window. He looked a little too "Pretty Boy" for Alan.
"Commander, your appointment is here."
"Thanks, Harriet." Harm looked at Alan, "Have a seat."

The Judge looked at the two attorneys and their clients, "It is the finding of this court, that Mr. Stark is obligated to pay, Mrs. Stark One Million Dollars per year in alimony, until, if and when she remarries and an additional $500,000 per year in child support" The judge banged the gavel as Sebastian's wife turned to her attorney. "Thank You Alan."
Alan nodded, "It isn't over yet, we still have the custody hearing."
"That shouldn't be too hard." She stood up and shook his hand, "Thanks again"
As Alan was packing up, opposing council walked over to him. "She made out pretty well."
"She did."
"And you beat me."
"Mr. Stark, it was tough, I assure you of that."
Sebastian nodded, "Yes it was."
"I know this seems a bit unethical...but may I buy you a drink?"
"Drinks from opposing council...." Stark chuckled "A drink's a drink"

Chelina Hall: Is this from his trial lawyer?
Attorney Gerald Litman: Went into a twelve-step program. Had to apologize to those he’d let down.
Chelina Hall: Has Zeke seen this?
Attorney Gerald Litman: We sent him a copy. Zeke doesn’t write back.
Chelina Hall: Right.

Alan walked into the offices of the Texas innocence project fifteen minutes after he’d left his meeting with his client, and looked disturbed. He was still trying to accept that someone can be so willing to die for a crime he, himself wasn’t sure he committed. Alan spotted Chelina sitting at a cramped desk in the corner, reading over a stack of paper.

He spoke quietly, “I met Zeke---I wasn’t prepared for any of that.”
“That he won’t recant?”
Alan nodded.
“He might not have to…we got something from his trial lawyer.” She handed him the paper she was reading.
He started reading, “A note from his lawyer, apologizing. He was abusing cocaine and alcohol during the trial.” Alan turned the page, “He admits he provided inadequate representation.”
It was Chelina’s turn to nod. “This plus the DNA might be enough.”
“Even in Texas?”
“Maybe.”

Alan sighed. Any other state in the union and all of this would have been enough to get another trial. “Maybe”, that was the closest he can get in Texas. Hopefully, the District Attorney will agree with him, then hopefully the appeals court will feel the same.

Alan sat with Chelina, catching up on the details of the case. At about 11: 45 his stomach growled. “When’s the meeting with the DA?”
“1:15”
“Lunch?”
Chelina looked at the pile of paperwork on her desk, “A short one….I know a place.”

Client’s name is Ezekiel Bourns. He likes to be called Zeke. He has an IQ of eighty. He was convicted eight years ago in the shooting death of a gas station attendant. We finally got a DNA test ordered, it came back negative. One would think that would be enough to clear him. But… the problem is, he confessed, after an all-night interrogation. He could have been coerced, maybe brain washed, maybe both.

Chelina’s description of the case stuck in Alan’s head as he walked out of his meeting with Zeke. The 10AM meeting lasted under forty five minutes and Alan was infuriated. He didn’t blame Zeke; he blamed the bastards that kept him in that interrogation room. He blamed the bastards that brain washed him. He blamed the bastards that knew that Zeke had diminished mental capacity, yet kept on him for 16 hours.

It amazed Alan how willing Zeke was to die at the hands of the state of Texas. Alan told him why he was there—to get the conviction overturned. Zeke returned with “You’re gonna get me sent to hell is what you’re doing.” Zeke came to terms with what was going to happen. He genuinely believed this was the right thing. To die for a crime he didn’t remember.

Next stop was the District Attorney. This was Texas; the District Attorney wasn’t going to listen to them. This was Texas, the state solely responsible for a full third of executions in the United States. A full third! Alan could see why…if all of the confessions were made up of lies. If they didn’t win this, if he didn’t win this, at 9AM Ezekiel Bourns will be executed by the great state of Texas, and Alan would do everything in his power to keep that from happening.
